Enlighten Pakistan- The Road To Recovery

By Summaiya Noor Ali

The topic seems like a book title to me, and hence the word count becomes superficial. And by all means a book should be written on this topic but such a book will not be read by the Pakistanis.

We Pakistani’s love to whine and crib about the things that pose a threat or a glinch in the system that needs t be rectified. However few enlightened visionaries choose to actually do something about the problems being faced. Everyone points at the problems, but the million dollar question being; how many put forward a solution to these problems.

Getting on. It gets difficult from here onwards to pinpoint the problems, and it is true that theoretically one can solve the gigantic geographical problem that now is Pakistan. But we will arrive at the practical solution to it as well. The problem; Citizens of Pakistan have lost track of their ethics, their minds have been tampered with, they are numb to others and their tragedies and their conscience is adultrated.

Corruption, is not a different issue, it comes from the people. We need the right, honest, hard working, loyal and patriotic person in the right place. And if that is too much to ask, we could still just do with the honest and patriotic bit. We have a habit of adopting, even to practices that need not be adopted. But that’s a different argument altogether.

Each one of us needs to ask ourself if the only reason Quaid-e-Azam got our homeland for us was to let it burn down, or watch it while it suffocated with the wave of imiigrants or to let pests dwell in it and take over the country?

What we really need is a free thinking generation, with precise goals. Who use media, the most powerful tool for manipulating minds, to being the nostalgia back. Bring the patriotism back and also show light, ignite drive and determination in the people, whi will then for the long term work for the betterment of the country.

A long term motivator can put things back on track for us. If good men are in the right places the country will flourish, the economy will prosper, litracy-rate (the original defination) will rise and corruption will, inshAllah, be close to zero. A perfect economy is what we need to aim for, a self sufficient one (like Iran). This reminds me of what my teacher once wrote for me. Aim for the moon, for even if you miss it you will still fall amongst the stars.
