Emeralds vs Stones

It starts all pretty
Like part of a scene, the perfect shot
Everyone at their best behavior
Praying together; singing praises of Allah
Our one true God

It seems like a harmonious society
Everyone so in sync with each other
Then come the grieving days
And everyone adorns black
Still as in sync as ever
Taking part in each other's grief

Zooming in, everyone seems focused
But there are always predators, be it in happiness or grief
You can see it in their eyes
Darting left right and centre
The ceremony ends, the predator rises
Looking for their prey, stalking, tracking every move

They find the right moment
They pounce, grabbing onto their prey
Seems like they are negotiating a price
Breathless, they blabber, wanting to make it speak
One mangled sound, like the last sigh of the dying
While the prey sees greed and just that
How can one convey to the unrelenting species?
What they crave, lust for and embarrass is a JEWEL

It is our Jewel, they are our Emeralds and Rubies
They are precious jewels and we are the caves
Our trump cards, too precious to 'come out'
They are pearls, and we are the oysters
They are our assets and we are the protectors
They are humans, they are our girls,
heck they are our daughters
and they are not for SALE!
Something you don't seem to notice

Humanity, ethics, principles, devoid of these
The predators have a green vision and blinders on
Some say it is a part of the 'process'
Like a big game, or a chase
Some say it is 'culture'
& in that way making it unquestionable
Why don't we put a stop to such culture
Without a doubt, such debase practices are debatable

My blood boils and rushes
Wanting to hurt the predators
They don't realize they are hounding their preys

Some of whom might never find the courage to fly again.
